Presto

It’s that time of year again…the time for getting nervous and excited all at once!
and…NO, I’m not talking about finals or academics or things like that! >:O
I mean it is the time before the Buddha’s Light Youth Chinese Orchestra Annual Grant Concert!!!!
It’s time for er-hu cram sessions!!!
and it’s time for picking up the tempo to PRESTO!
Can’t wait to see how this concert will turn out…first time performing with a professional band (Hsu-nami)!!!
I gotta get my head in the game! My er-hu skills are all rusty…><

Summer Break!!!

Yes! I can finally rest up!!! It is summer break!!!
I am officially done with my first year of college!!!! =D
Almost all of my grades are up...can't believe it...I somehow managed to pull off pretty good grades! =O
Well...credits belong to my parents though...I probably would've done very bad without their help and push towards the last few weeks left of spring semester...
I dunno...but..it seems like they have the magic that allows me to reach inside myself and grasp the true potential and knowledge that I have...and save me from falling down into a very deep pit of failure and sorrow!
What can I do without my parents?
I hate to say it...even though I find my parents to be very annoying and frustrating to be with...I can barely do anything without them...they seem to always be right...except in the field of technology and creativeness =D

It has been 5 days since I have started my summer break and finished my first year of college!
Things have been pretty good lately!
I've got the chance to catch up with my sleep, eat home cooked food, see old friends, talk with parents more, worry about the future, get a new laptop, drive more, and not have to worry about work/hw!
I've even got the chance to practice my er-hu (Chinese Violin) more and go shopping with my mom!
I have also recently gone to two different Chinese schools with my dad in order to help my dad teach in the Chinese Orchestra classes...seems like I am pretty popular...everyone knows me! ^__^
Bottom Line: My break is going very well thus far! =D

Consider me lucky...my dad's orchestra, the Buddha's Light Youth Chinese Orchestra (NJ BLYCO), is going to perform with a well-known band called Hsu-Nami! (look them up on Youtube, they're the ones that played the theme song of the Chinese Basketball Team in the Beijing Olympics!)
{I will be making a separate post soon about this concert!}
Today, I actually got to go see them practice!
I have to say...THEY ARE AMAZING!!!
I really can't wait to see how this performance is going to be...the combination of NJ BLYCO and Hsu-Nami...I'm gonna be playing with them!!!! =O

I really hope the rest of my break will continue to be good as it is now...or become better!
Well...I gotta take advantage of this break...I got a summer course that will be starting in one week! That means...I'll be getting back to going to class and doing hw and tests...>_< *sigh*
can't be helped...I want to graduate faster....@__@ oh well...I just gotta finish this course then I'll be set and the rest of my summer would be free again!

Can't wait till my new laptop gets here! =3

Reflection

Wow...time sure does fly...

My first year of college is already over...and the next year of college is going to start soon...
I shall reflect on my first year of experiencing college...

At first, before I even set foot in college...I was wondering if I had selected the right college to go to...
I applied for only three colleges...and I got accepted to all three colleges...
It was really a tough decision but I chose the one that I apparently going to, Stony Brook University!
I wasn't sure if it was the right decision but...I went with it...

Now, I don't even regret that I chose to go to Stony Brook! Everything turned out OK...I should say...better than OK! =D
I enjoyed my first year of college...even though I had plenty of those times of suffering and pain...
I have to say...it was a very bumpy road and experience...
It took me a while to get adjusted to campus life/college life...
I was still fine tuned for High School life and work...thus, when I met my first midterm...I nearly died...my expression of my first set of midterms was...basically this face: O_O
But then, as time progressed...I finally got adjusted...and I felt pretty good about that...I made tons of new friends and had tons of fun learning and hanging with friends! I believe, and I hope, that I have made many new worthwhile and life lasting friendships during this first year of college! =D

I have done many things in my first year in college...varying from working very hard on my homeworks and getting ready for exams to making new friends to having tons of fun!
I have to say...the first set of friends that I made was all due to the sport of Ping-Pong! =D
If I didn't bother going to the basement of my dorm (where the pingpong table of our building is located), I would've never met any of the friends that I have now...
I'd meet one new friend from playing ping-pong...then...all of a sudden he/she would introduce me to...like...3-5 or so of his/her friends...
I guess that's what you call networking? xD
I'm very happy that I have met so many new people and became friends with them instantly...
All those new friends that I have made...were always there for me when I needed their help...or when I needed a mental boost!
I guess that's what you consider a good and royal friend...eh? I made so many of those type of friends in Stony Brook...it really does prove something about Stony Brook University...not only is it a good university...but also...the people there are all, if not all...most, friendly, nice, and caring!

Everyone in Stony Brook seemed very open and friendly... especially my dormitory wing, A1!
We are like family already! Everybody...once again...if not everybody...most of us....know each other and had a buncha interaction with each other! We'd play sports in the hallway, chill in each other's rooms, go eat as a big group, have parties together, play video games with each other...etc.
If you'd walk through our hall/wing...you'd see many doors wide open with a buncha shouting and laughing! We, as a wing, had a great year together! Our whole wing will be nearly the same next semester! Can't Wait to get back there!

Now...more about Stony...
The environment of Stony Brook University is a very nice one...
I felt very comfortable there...
There are many places to go to not only have fun...but also to study!
The faculty are all very nice and caring!
The campus is big but very beautiful! There are many trees and flowers around!
The air seems very fresh and clean on campus...
This campus is never boring, there's always something going on...an event or party or something...you just gotta look for it!
Campus life is amazing in Stony Brook...many events and fun stuff to do! i.e. Roth Pond Regatta. Strawberry Fest, China Night, Korea Night, Japan Night, Tennis Tournaments...etc.

As I have mentioned before...it was a very bumpy and rough road...but I lived and made it out of my first year of college!
Even though all the courses that I took were very hard and tedious...I made it through...with the help of my family and friends!
I'd go to class with friends...and leave class to meet up with another bunch of friends...
I admit it...there were times where I almost fell asleep in class...I guess staying awake in class is a skill that I need to perfect...
I made many bad decisions in this first year of college...but I have learned from them...if not yet...I will learn!
Mistakes are there so we can improve ourselves!

As for what I did for fun...
I did many many many things...besides just hanging out with friends that is....=D
I played tennis, ping-pong, and many other sports on campus...I made many friends by playing sports!
You guys are probably wondering what we do when we hang out...
We do many things...varying from talking to playing video games...Hanging out with friends is a big portion of campus life and living...there is never a day where you don't at least hang with one friend!
Campus life is not just filled with studying and working...but it is also full of FUN!

All I can say is that I had a great first year!
Hopefully my next year in college will be just as good or be better!
Now...of to SUMMER VACATION....and summer courses..=/

It's been along time....

Wow...it has been so long since I wrote my last entry eh?
To tell you the truth...I haven't had the time to write any entries till now...
I've been busy with school, work, practicing, having fun, cramming...etc.
Now...It is towards the end of finals week...
I only have one more final to go, and I need to make sure that I pass this final with a very good grade!
But...now...I actually have some time to spare!
 =D isn't that GREAT! =D

This semester has been going by very very very...yet I emphasis again...very very fast!
It is just simply...unbelievable... yesterday feels like as if it was...my first day in college!
For one moment, I am going through orientations...then for another moment, I'm taking finals already! =O
You guys know what I mean?
My first year of college is about to end...it's just...simply...very astounding...ish...
Can't believe that it's already almost over...I guess now is the time to reflect on my first year in college...eh?

Spring Break is finally HERE!

Ahh....home sweet home!
The long waited moment is finally here!
SPRING BREAK!!!
The time of breaking! =D
I finally have the time to write my blog again!

I shall write a long story into a short story!
I have been very busy ever since my last post on this blog...
I've been overwhelmed by my homework and exam load...I was being bombarded by one after another...
Well...I am very surprised that I was actually able to pull through all that difficulty and work load...
I believe that I have done pretty good on my exams...but...my fingers are still crossed for good luck!

I left campus for Spring Break on Friday, the 26th of March...and didn't go home at all...
instead, I went to a Buddhist retreat hosted by the New York Buddha's Light Young Adults Division!

Although I was very tired throughout the whole retreat, I had a very good time and learned many things!
I met so many new people and made a lot of new friends in this retreat!
Going to this retreat was very worth the effort and time!
Good job to the New York Buddha's Light Young Adults Division for planning such a good retreat!

Now it is time for me to catch up with my rest!

Things are picking up...

Wow...it has been a very long time since I have written any blog....
I have been very busy lately...barely have any time to actually do what I want to do...
Things are starting to pick up speed...I'm getting more and more homework,
Exams are finally starting to kick-off...not to mention that my friends already had two exams...and I had none thus far =D!!!
But, that's going to change next week...I will be having two exams...
I've been having fun and learning...along with meeting a lot of new people and get more and more popular!
From now on...I don't know if I'll have any time to write my blogs...
But, I will write whenever possible!!!
Please bare with me!!!
Thank Yee very much!

Bad Luck

Bad Luck...we all have that...
I don't know about you guys...but I HATE bad luck!
BAD LUCK had done many things to me...varying from messing me up and screwing me over to making me very angry...
I just wish there's a way to fight bad luck...

A couple of days ago, my laptop crashed...thus, I had to reinstall my Windows 7 Operating System (OS)...
Which means...all of my previous data is gone...
But, I did make back-ups to my 1Tera-byte External Hard Drive...
This is where bad luck struck again...my 1TB External fell on the floor...somehow...don't know how...
and it won't work anymore...
That means...I can't get all of the data and back-ups I desperately need...
I'll have to send it in to one of those professional places where they can recover the files on the hard drive...which is going to cost me alot of money...which I don't have...
I am in a very bad situation now...and I don't like it...it's all because of BAD LUCK!!!
*sigh*

But...life hasn't been too bad though...
I've been making new friends and hanging out with my good 'ole gang again...
Haven't seen them for at least a month...due to winter break...
All is well now...hopefully it'll stay that way....

Back in Business!

Now that everything has finally settled down...I can finally write my blogs again!
I'll just give you guys a update for now...
My grandma has passed away last Wed....she succumbed to a stroke...
I miss her dearly...
But...I am happy that she is in a better place now...she is probably much happier there...
We had her funeral last Saturday...back in New Jersey...
The funeral home is in East Brunswick and my grandma's grave is near her home...
My grandpa can visit her anytime he would like to now...
I am very grateful that my grandpa isn't depressed or sad anymore...
I still have the image of him crying...

I am once again back in college...going on full throttle!
I am finally used to my schedule and I am doing much better than last semester!
I am now in the process of making a work-out routine with my friends...I plan on staying fit this time!

Life has been very busy and bumpy for me these days...
I'll just have to tackle one thing at a time...

The Situation...

Yesterday, the 27th of January...
The doctors have removed my grandmother from the life support system...
Without the life support system...my grandmother can't breathe...
My grandma is suffering from a stroke...a stroke that involves the paralysis of the left side and difficulty with breathing...
I went to the hospital numerous times to visit her...
she looks like she was suffering...she didn't look too good...

The doctors said that you doesn't have too long...
thus, my father's side of the family has been in deep discussion on what they should do with grandma...
They came with the solution that if they continue to try to save grandma...it'll bring grandma more pain...
Thus, they have told the nurses and doctors to "pull" the plug...

After the doctors pulled out the life support system...they made my grandma as comfortable as possible...
Then...she passed....away...

While all of this was happening...I was in college...all the way in Stony Brook, NY...
I just wish that I was there...back in Jersey...
I already miss her dearly...
I just hope that my grandma is happy and has no pain or regrets now...
I believe she is in a happier place now...

She'll always be remembered and in my heart...RIP grandma!

Back in College!

I am finally back in college!
Two days have past since the start of spring semester...
These two days weren't too bad...I actually kinda liked these past two days...
I feel just like as if I am home again!

I met all of my professors already...they are all pretty good!
except...some of them are...kinda...boring....
One of my professor just talks in a mono tone...and pauses in mid sentence...for about 30 sec.
Kinda funny right?!!!
It gets kinda hard to stay awake in class though...but somehow...I manage to stay awake...

Yesterday, I was finally reunited with my friends...
I don't have any classes with any of my friends though...
But, I get to see them often though!
For example, I see them in my dorm. and we go to eat togather...
Last night, my friend Anna, decided to celebrate her birthday, which already passed during winter break, by eating with most of her friends!
There were about...I think...once again...I think...there were about 12-13 of us?
Our number just kept of growing as we were eating!
I was so satisfied after I ate dinner yesterday! I was stuffed!!!! I had a nacho platter for dinner, while everyone else had noodles, hamburgers, steak, and chicken wings!!!
My friends and I decided to embarrass Anna a little by getting the restaurant to give Anna a cake and sing happy birthday out loud so the whole restaurant could hear!!!! It was so fun!

After we ate, we went back to our dorms and hanged out a bit...
Anna was having trouble with getting her internet to work...thus, I tried to help...and failed...hahahaha...
I suggested her to go to the pros. for her situation...(it got fixed today)

Well...my grandma's situation is not getting better...
My family has decided to...pull the plug...tomorrow...T.T
I will be going back home this Thursday night...
My grandma will always be in my heart...

What Happened....

As you guys have probably notice...
I haven't been writing my blogs lately...
I've just been so busy and so many things were happening at once...
I just couldn't find the time...
Worst of all...my grandma is not OK anymore...I am worried about her...

Everything started when I was about to do my last minute college shopping for supplies...
my grandpa called my mom and I when we just got back from one of the shopping runs...
He sounded very panicked and worried on the phone...I have never heard him talk the way he did...
It made me very scared and worried...
He told us that grandma just had a stroke and isn't moving...my mom then told him to call 911...and tried to instruct him to do some Chinese acupuncture to try to remove some blood...there is a Chinese saying that if you release some blood from the tips of a stroke victims fingers, they will be in better condition then having no blood let out from the tips of the fingers...
I am not sure if this is true or not...but...my grandpa was too panicked to do the task...
My mom and I rushed to my grandpa's house...when we got there....we spotted two police cars in the parking lot...
I rushed into my grandpa's house first while my mom was parking the car...
I was so worried...
When I first got into the scene...I saw two police officers...they were apparently trained in the EMT field...
They then asked me a series of questions about grandma...I answered the questions to the best of my ability...then...my mom came in and anwered more questions...
a couple of minutes later...two ambulances arrived...the responders then and set a oxygen mask on my grandma...they said she was having difficulty breathing...
This fact made me even more worried...
To ADD on to that fact...grandpa told the emergency crew that grandma said that her left arm was very numb around noon...then after she ate lunch and lied down to take a nap...she tried to get up and fell down to the floor from either a bed or a chair and couldn't move....
The emergency crew then predicted that grandma had a stroke and, thus, rushed her to the ER of Robert Wood Johnson Hospital...
We soon found out that her brain was bleeding...
This just bought my mood all the way down to being sad...
My parents and I was in the hospital since 2:50pm and didn't leave until around 10:30-11:00 PM...
My father's older sister and my cousin Victor and his family came to visit grandma in the hospital...
The nurses then moved my grandmother to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)...to be watched carefully...
they said that they will be examining her condition for 5 days...I hope nothing will go wrong in these remaining five days...

For the past 2-3 days...my family has been rotating in the job of staying with grandma...
Doctors say that her condition is improving...but...they told us not to expect much...
If she survives...her whole left side would be paralyzed...
These couple of facts bought my grandpa and my father to tears...I've never seen both of them cry before...
I can only hope for the best now...

Well...currently...I am back in college...I am in the dark about my grandma...spring semester has started...
I just hope nothing happens to my grandma...I only hope that she will improve...

Oh No!

Today is like any ordinary day...
Wake up, brush my teeth, eat breakfast, do work, make lunch, eat, do more work, and go out for errands...
Surprisingly it didn't rain or snow...
The weather forecast said that it was supposed to rain or snow...
Guess that it's a good thing it didn't rain or snow...eh?
Except...I have bad news....
My mom has got a cold...
Very bad...I am about to go back to college...and she becomes sick...
I won't be able to care for her once I am in college...
*sigh*
Just wish that my break was a bit longer so I can take care of her...
She has been really busy lately...she hasn't been able to rest properly...
I'm guessing that's why she fell ill...
All I can do is wish that she feels better soon!

Dim Sum!!!

Today,  I woke up to a set plan to go to eat Dim Sum with my parents and grandparents!
I don't know what the special occasion today is...besides MLK day of course...
My family usually never eats Dim Sum unless something special happened...
I'm guessing that we ate Dim Sum today because I am about to go back to college this Sunday...
I had a pretty good and long break thus far, hopefully it'll stay as a good break!

The Dim Sum we ate today was very very good!
I enjoyed it very much!
The Dim Sum was not oily like the other Chinese restaurants offered!
It was perfect!
I ate so much...it felt like I ate at a buffet!

Besides eating Dim Sum...I went to my gramps house and settled there for a while...
My parents and grandparents had some business to discuss...
Then...of course...we went back home and I set off to do more work...
And...now...I am writing this blog....
I am very satisfied today!

Last Orchestra practice before I go back to college...

Today is my last time going to the Buddha's Light Youth Chinese Orchestra practice before I go back to college...
Very sad...*sniff sniff*
I wish there were more practices before...that way I could have hung out with my friends in the orchestra...
I won't be able to see those friends for a very long time...probably not until spring break...
well...looking a the bright side...
I still have one more week for helping my dad teach the Chinese Music Classes at Union Chinese School and Tzu Chi Chinese School!
I'll still be able to play my erhu a bit more! YAY!
Even though my winter break is very long compared to my other friends' winter breaks...I still feel that it is still too short...
hahahaha
well...what can I say? I like having breaks!
My winter break is slowly coming to an end...I gotta enjoy the rest of my break!

I need a new PC or laptop...

*sigh*
I couldn't write my blogs yesterday....
My computer...or should I say...laptop...
was idling at 89%...the computer was running so slow!
Very unbearable...
So...I decided to run all of my anti-spy ware and anti-virus protection programs and scan my pc...
It so happens that I found a couple of infections here and there...

Today, my computer is running slightly faster than yesterday...little improvement...
*sigh*
I desperately need a new laptop/pc...
My laptop is from 2002!
Very outdated hardware...
Yet I have Windows 7....heh heh heh....
It's either I get a new laptop or a desktop PC...or I get new and updated hardware for this old laptop...
Soon or later this laptop is gonna crash and burn....hopefully that won't happen anytime soon!

Another way to help victims of the Haiti earthquake!

I have friend, Jayson, who has started a meetup group called the NY/NJ Bucket List...
He is making a effort to raise money for the victims in the Haiti Earthquake...
" Announcing a new Meetup for NY / NJ - The Bucket List!

What: PC Repair with Love - A Fundraiser for the Haiti Earthquake

When: Thursday, January 14, 2010 8:00 AM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

I just got an awesome idea. I want to help the people of Haiti, but I didn't know how, but I just came up with this idea. I have been working with PCs prior to 1997. I been working for many well known corporations such as Viacom, Pfizer, ABC, etc... computer providing pc support and repair. Any way for the next 3 days or so; depending how this goes I'm going to start this fundraiser. PC Repair with LOVE - A fundraiser for the Haiti Earthquake. If you have a PC, Internet question, suggestion, etc... send me an email. I'll try to fix it or try to provide a solution. In doing so you agree to provide a repair fee. 100% of the money will go to a respectable charity for Haiti. I haven't decided yet. I'll see how many I can do. If need be I can even remote into your pc from home.

Help those in need...Earthquake in Haiti!

As I have mentioned before...in my previous post...
There was a 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Haiti...
Many people have lost their lives and gotten injured in this tragedy...
Many people have lost their homes as well...
Thinking about this tragedy...we must all appreciate that we are safe and that we are so fortunate to still have all these pleasures that many people lost/don't have...

I am asking you guys, my readers and visitors, to join me in the effort to help those people in need of help...
Wherever you guys see people doing fund raising events and similar activities to raise money, please donate!
Every penny/dollar makes a difference! Just as a common saying, "One man can make a difference".
I got this from my college, Stony Brook University...

"
How to Help

The University is now coordinating a response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti:
Cash Contributions
The Faculty Student Association and the Interfaith Center are coordinating the collection and forwarding cash contributions from members of the University. Collected cash and checks should be sent to the Interfaith Center for deposit into the FSA account. All gifts will go to the American Red Cross, the agency with broadest reach and swiftest delivery. At present, only cash contributions and checks (made out to the American Red Cross) can be accepted. Credit card donations should be made online through the American Red Cross.
More ways to help:
  • You can help immediately by texting "HAITI" to "90999" (on your non-state issued personal cell phone) and a donation of $10 will be charged to your cell phone bill and given automatically to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts.

  • Wyclef Jean, a rapper and hip-hop artist from Haiti, urged people to text "Yele" to 501501 (on your non-state issued personal cell phone) to donate $5 toward earthquake relief. Yéle Haiti is a grassroots movement inspiring change in Haiti through programs in education, sports, the arts, and the environment.

  • The State Department Operations Center has set up the following number for Americans seeking information about family members in Haiti: 1-888-407-4747.
  • A broader list of relief organizations is available here."

Please help, like I said before..."one man can make a difference" and every penny/dollar makes a difference!

WhooWeee What a day!

What a day, what a day!
I didn't wake up until 12:35PM today...just because I had my alarm set for 10:30...PM...
What a mistake...
Wasted a whole morning not knowing what time it is and sleeping!
*sigh*
I basically skipped breakfast today...went directly onto lunch...or as most of us would call it...brunch...
Breakfast + Lunch = Brunch
get it?

After I ate my delicious brunch, I once again set off for more work work work!
I only got little over a week before I have to head back to college...
I must get myself prepared for all those hard lectures and classes that I will be taking...don't wanna get murdered! You guys know what I mean?
So...I worked worked worked until dinner...
then I yet again set off for more work work work...

And now, my free time!
YES!
I just made myself a myspace!
here is the link: http://www.myspace.com/mxwei
By the way, if you want to follow me on twitter, I do have a twitter! Username: mxwei
And now...I am writing my blog!
What a nice way of ending a day, by writing on my blogs, I like it....!

I just found out that about 50,000 lives has been lost in the Haiti earthquake that had a magnitude of about 7.0...
I just pray that no more lives will be lost and for those injured victims to get better...
God...what a tragedy...

Happy Day :D!!!!

Yes!
I had a very happy and good day today ~ :)!!!!
Never felt so happy for such a long time...
probably because I haven't been doing anything else but working working working!
Well...you guys are probably wondering why I am so happy and what caused me to be so happy...I shall explain!

Today, I woke up around 10:35AM...
I woke up and felt like it was like any other day, normal basically...
I immediately made myself a breakfast, ate, then went straight to work!
I worked worked worked for at least 2 hours...then I finally decided to give myself a break!
Thus, I made two videos!
I have uploaded them onto youtube already! Search for my channel, mxwei, and enjoy them!

Directly after making the two videos + uploading them onto youtube,
I set off to make lunch for my mom and me! (my mom was out running errands)
Then, my mom arrived home from her errands to a full table of food waiting for her!
It so happens that she still has one more errand to run, make photocopies of a new Chinese music piece for an orchestra that my father directs and conducts, Buddha's Light Youth Chinese Orchestra (BLYCO)...
Thus, we ate swiftly and left immediately after we finished eating!

It took my mom about 2-3 hours to finish photocopying the piece! It took her soooo longg!!!!
UNBELIEVABLE!
But, the 2-3 hours was not wasted...
I decided to do some shopping before I head back to college!
I finally purchased something for the first time in god knows how long!
I bought a heat sink for my laptop and a optical mouse for my laptop!
These purchases made my day!!!!
AND
To add on to the part that made me happy,
My mom and I decided to get "Quiz noes" for dinner!
We've never eaten "Quiz noes" before...it was soo gooodddd!!!!!
It felt like I was in nirvana!
Never felt so happy for months!

I hope tomorrow will be just as good as today...

Dental Appointment today...

Oi....
another busy day...not as bad as compared to Saturday at least...
I had difficulty waking up early today...
I guess that it is because I didn't sleep to well, but I still managed to wake up before 11:30AM!
There's not much to tell you guys about what I did...because...all I did was eat, breathe, drink water, and DO WORK!
WORK WORK WORK!!!!
*sigh*
The once again never ending work...
I have to say...I am gradually getting used to this bombardment of work...

Well...I did get a break around 3:40PM...
I had to drive to my cousins house in order to drop off a present/package...
It so happened that she wasn't home at the time...thus...my mom and I decided to leave it at her front door...
I was worried that someone might take it...even though it isn't "valuable" compared to many other things in life...
But, fortunately, she has received it! Nothing happened to it! Thank Buddha!

Directly after dropping off the package, I had to rush home to gobble down some food...
because...I had a dental appointment at 4:45PM!!!!
The appointment was for two pit cavities on my upper left...
It didn't feel like I had cavities...it didn't look like I had any cavities...but...Doctor found two...o well...
Every time I go to the dentist for cavities, I always end up getting number for hours upon hours...
Which means that I won't be able to eat dinner until a very very very long time...
Thus, the gobbling of food...
True to my past experiences, I didn't get "un-numbed" until 8:30PM...

I have to say...being numb was a very interesting experience...
I was numb to a point where I couldn't pronounce b, p, s, z, n, m...any many more letter "sounds" correcly!
Everything was slurred and sounded like I was spitting! xD
I was laughing at myself for at least 5 straight minutes...in front of my bird, Porthous!
To add on to the funny part, Porthous was looking at me weird...he probably thought I was going crazy or something! Just had to put that out there....;D
I just wished that I video taped myself trying to speak...I could've put it on youtube....oh well...

I have to say...I was starving by 7PM, thus, I finished all of the noodles that my parents couldn't finish!
Have you guys ever had that feeling before? The feeling when you are very hungry and finally get to eat something? Everything tastes good in that situation right? Of course!
At that time, I couldn't help hold myself back anymore...I have to say...I enjoyed it!
I had a wonderful feast!
I felt so satisfied after I was done eating!
But then....directly after I was done eating...I went back to...
WORKING WORKING WORKING!
Of course!
I am a very hard working student!
I am studious!

And now...I am ready for bed...Night everyone!
Hope tomorrow won't be so busy and numb!

Good thing this didn't happen to me...I'm glad I have me a good doctor!

Teaching Chinese Music is FUN!

Ah...Yes!
Back to the subject of teaching Chinese Music Classes...
I have just finished teaching the Chinese Music Class in Tzu Chi Chinese School!
The class started from 3:45PM and ended around 4:30PM...

I am so happy that I got to Tzu Chi Chinese School early enough to visit my old teacher and meet my good 'ole friends that haven't graduated yet!

Back to the main topic, Teaching Chinese Music is FUN!....
I was once again teaching the beginners the same song that I had to teach yesterday at the Union Chinese School...
You can say that, since I had to teach the same thing over again, I was more prepared today than yesterday...
I felt that I have taught with more efficiency than yesterday!
Today, I had to teach two students not one....and I still felt that I have taught with more efficiency today!
I have to say, the two students I taught today...they learned very very very fast!
I taught them one thing...they immediately soaked it into their brains!
It was the very first time that my two students played that song that I taught them...they were sight reading!
It is amazing that at the end of class, my two students could play through the whole song with little mistakes!
But...they still need to work on it and practice it...whenever they play with the rest of the class, upper level players, they can't keep up yet...BUT, THEY SOON WILL!

I have to say...I really enjoyed the teaching experience!
Whenever I teach...I get a really warm feeling on the inside and teach to my fullest!
I am guessing that I love teaching so much is because that I love to help others that need help...
But hey...that's just a speculation...
I should be a Chinese Music teacher...    : )
Well...just as I have hoped for yesterday...before I went to bed...
Today wasn't as busy as yesterday! YES!
SUCCESS!!!! :D

Busy Day...

Wow...I feel very tired now....
I just finished one hell of a busy day...
Had to wake up around 9:30 AM and go to Union Chinese School with my dad...
It so happens that my dad is teaching Chinese Music Class in two different Chinese schools,
My dad teaches Chinese Music Class at Union Chinese School on Saturdays and at Tzu Chi Chinese School on Sundays...
So...I decided that I want to help my father teach! My dad is a very busy man! He is always tired and exhausted from work...he needs assistance for this side job!

I believe that I am the right man for this job!
I am pretty good at the Er-hu (Chinese Violin) and know some Dizi (Chinese Bamboo Flute)!
I am also a very very very good teacher! :)
But, I am in college...my home is in New Jersey while my college is all the way in Long Island, New York...
I only have certain times when I can actually come home and help out...this week is actually the very first week that I am available to help my father...
Thus, I will be helping whenever possible!
I have to admit...teaching is not a easy task...especially when you are teaching a beginner...
But hey, I am well suited for teaching beginners!
I am very amicable and people always get along with me!
I am patient and I always give it my 100%!
When I am teaching beginners, the beginners always leave for home with some improvements!

Any how....back to about my busy day...
I didn't get back home until around 12PM...
I had a very good tasty lunch that my mom cooked then set straight to work!
Work Work Work! (working is very important!)
Didn't stop working until 3:30 PM...then I had to rush to get ready for the 2010 Buddha's Light Vegetarian Gala event!
Then of course, the event itself came along...

The 2010 Buddha's Light Vegetarian Gala was a total SUCCESS!!!!
We have raised a lot of money!
I don't know the exact amount yet...but I am estimating that we raised at least $15000+!!!!!
If you would still like to help the New Jersey Buddhist Culture Center by donating, please call:
(732)-529-6536
Just tell them that you would like to donate and help! If they ask how you found about the temple itself, just say that you got referred by Max Wei via this blog!
All donations and help will be greatly appreciated!
I have taken about 290 photos during this event! If you are curious to see what happened in this event: I will be posting all the photos online soon! I will be posting another post about this when I have finished uploading the photos!

I didn't get home from the Vegetarian Gala event until around 11:30...
I kept on working at the event starting from 4:30PM and didn't stop until 11:00 PM!
What a long time!
I can't believe I survived that!
All I can say is...WHEW! Finally this busy day has come to an end! I have survived!!!!
My legs are very sore, I am tired, and I am ready for bed!
Hopefully tomorrow won't be so busy!

For those of you readers that are suffering from busy days:
Keep on going! Don't stop! You can do it! Believe in yourself!
Take one thing at a time! WE CAN DO THIS! I handled this busy day pretty well and so can you!!!!

What's Up?!!

Whenever I leave my house and go to someplace where I'll meet someone I know...
I am always bombarded by "What's Up?!!"s
It's kinda strange right?
These days...our greetings have become shorter and shorter...

I personally enjoy using the "Hey! Hello, how are you/how have you been?" greeting...
Long as that type of greeting maybe, but it sounds very mature and professional!

Whenever I am hit with this question...I always responds with "nothing much, how about you?"
But, that is never the case...My life is full of activity and business...
I never get the chance to express and tell the world about what is happening in my life...
Until...

I was surfing the web and came across different types of websites...
then...
AHA
I found blogging!!!!
Success!
I can finally tell the world what has been going on in my mind while also voicing my opinions!
I am finally being listened to!

....even tho I don't know if anyone is bothering to go to my blog(s) or not....

But, anyhow, I feel content!
This blog will be about what happens in my life!
It will be more of a "life" genre blog...you can call it a "journal" like blog if you want...
My other blog, Max's World, will be about my opinions about various things and topics!
I Hope you guys will learn some stuff from my life and at least "entertain" you readers out there!
As always, feel free to comment!

Thus far in 2010...

Thus far... in this new year of 2010...
Nothing is new...
I have been expecting something new to happen...
but...so far...to my dismay, nothing has changed yet...
Everything is still the way it was...

I am still busy,
I am still being constantly annoyed by my parents,
My parents still won't stop talking about my academic life,
I am still studying,
I am still eating the same food,
I am still drinking the same drinks,
I am still using the same old laptop that is at least 8 years old,
I am still using the same old camera that is...god knows how old,

...I think you guys got the point....

I just wish something out of the ordinary will change my daily life...I am getting bored of the same 'ole lifestyle...
I need something that will break me out of this "infinite loop"...
*sigh*
I shall be patient and await for new things! I hope that I won't be disappointed when something new happens...
Hmmm....as people say....destiny....
I guess I have to say that I am awaiting for a new part of my destiny then....

Don't you guys ever have this kind of feeling? The feeling that you want to get out of your everyday life style and experience something new? I have heard people say that "life is full of many possibilities"....
So far...I see that I only have a few possibilities...and I have exhausted them all...I need something new...

Hmmm....maybe a vacation will do?
