It's that time of year again...
The end of the year that is...
Seems like it took a while for 12 months to past...eh?
It is the time of year when somethings come to an end while new things start!
It is the time for New Year Resolutions!
I know I have a rather long sized list...but hey...I'll tackle each and every item on my resolution list one by one!
I encourage everyone to do the same! That way, we'll all become better people and be more satisfied with ourselves!
I have to say...many things happened to me in this year, the year of 2009...
I graduated from high school,
Got into Stony Brook University,
Went College,
Made alot of new friends,
Learned alot of things,
Became a counselor for a music camp,
Got into numerous arguments with my parents,
Almost killed myself with the overload of work...etc.
I don't know bout you guys...but I have to say...I had a rather long year...
It's bout time that a new year STARTS!
I know that I won't accomplish everything on my resolution list...but, I'll do my best!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
May this year be prosperous and happy!

The New Jersey Buddhist Cultural Center (NJBCC) is an Buddhist non-profit organization that I go to...
The NJBCC is basically a branch off of the Buddha's Light International Association (BLIA) that is in...of course...New Jersey!
The NJBCC has recently bought a new temple/site! The new site/temple is under reconstruction currently...and the NJBCC needs more $$$ in order to finish up the job...
Thus, the NJBCC has planned a fund-raising event, the 2009 Buddha's Light Vegetarian Gala!
This event is basically a vegetarian meal + auctions + shows/entertainment + raffle give a ways!
This event will be tons of fun!
The New Jersey Buddha's Light Youth Chinese Orchestra (NJ BLYCO) will be performing during this event!
The NJ BLYCO is the very first Buddhist + Youth Chinese orchestra established in New Jersey! This orchestra has been around since 2002 and has been growing through out these passing years...
The BLYCO started with about only 15 musicians...now we have about 30 something talented musicians!
I guarantee you guys, this is one of the finest and best Youth Chinese Orchestra that you can find in the US!
There will also be many more performances besides this group! You will enjoy these performances, I also guarantee you guys on this!
If you guys don't enjoy the show, I'd bet that you'd enjoy what you will be auctioning and raffling for! I'd die to get one of the "about to be" auctioned objects!
If you are not in Jersey and cannot attend this event but would like to help by donating, please call (732)-529-6536 to get more info. on how to help! Just tell them that you'd like to make a donation and tell them that you got referred by this blog! All donations will be gratefully appreciated!

Freshman 15!

Freshman 15...
What is that?
Freshman 15 is a very strange phenomenon that happens only to college freshmen...
You see...Freshman 15 is where the victim, a college freshman, gains 15 pounds by the end of the first semester...
I didn't learn this term until the middle of my first freshman semester...
I just don't understand why this happens...
I gained exactly 15 pounds at the end of the first semester...it so happens that I gained 5 pounds each time I went back home...You guys can do the math...
15 divided by 5 equals 3...which is true...I did go home only 3 times during the whole semester...
I just don't get it....
Is it because of the food? Or is it because the time I ate the food? Or is it because I sleep very late? Or is there some other factor?
I exercise a lot and I don't eat much...compared to all my other friends in college...
This is just a very weird phenomenon....
I think something needs to be done...Freshmen everywhere are gaining 15 pounds...
That's not healthy at all!
Think about it...
It is very easy to gain weight...but it is very hard to lose the weight...
Especially for us college kids...We barely have time to relax and breathe!
How would we be able to find time to lose this weight?
If we all gain 15 pounds during freshman year first semester...doesn't that mean that we will just continue gaining weight throughout our college career?!!!
Oh My God! That thought just scares me...
I am going to lost that 15 pounds...that's the last thing I'll do before I go back to Stony!

X'mas!
It is that time of year again...
CHRISTMAS!!!
The time of giving and loving!
I hope everyone is having a good Christmas break so far!
I have to say...somehow... this year...
Christmas doesn't really feel like Christmas...I almost forgot it was Christmas...
No Christmas decorations in my house...no presents yet...no parties...except for a family reunion...
But hey...I am, atleast, gathered with my family...
It is the time of gathering together!
Merry Cholidays!

Home at Last!
Yes!
I am finally home!
Back in good 'ole Jersey!
Everything seems different with all this snow!
I am surprised that the not a lot of snow melted!
Well...I have to say...nothing much changed at home...
I was expecting some home improvement while I was gone in college...but apparently nothing happened...except that we got a new range! Looks very nice!
These past couple of days, I've been relaxing and making new videos!
Check out my youtube channel to see them: mxwei
I have lots of stuff planned for this break...
I got parties to go to, got family reunions coming up, going to movies with friends, going to friends house just to chill, and maybe visit Rutgers University!
hmm...sounds like I am still very busy...even when I am at home...><
But hey, I don't mind...I am having a break from all the strenuous work in college!
I'm making tons of videos these days! Be sure to tune into my channel and subscribe!

Freedom!!!

YES!
I am finally done with my finals!
I haven't felt such freedom for such a long time!
Feels so good!
Even though I think I didn't do too good on my last final...
But, hey, I still think that I passed!
I have to say...walking to the final was strenuous!
There is ice and snow everywhere!
The campus people didn't bother shoveling/clearing the walkways...
My friend, Jia, and I decided to have some fun with all this snow!
We walked in the snow, made videos, took photos, and got freezing cold!
It was so fun!
Here is my most recent video that I made, it so happens that it is about this!
Can't wait till I get back home!
Good 'ole Jersey!

Last 3 days of Fall Semester...
Yes! I only have 3 more days of torture, then...
I'll be FREE!!!!
Can't wait!
But, as I have written before in my past posts, I still have one more final...
I am not eager to take that final...
But, I will do anything to get out of this torture!
Thus far, these last few days of fall semester hasn't been too bad...
I've been having fun here and there...
But, I am missing all those people that have left for winter break already...
But, on the other hand...
IT'S SNOWING!!!!
It started snowing around 1 PM, just when I woke up from my beautiful sleep...
Right now, currently, it is very very crazy outside!
I can barely see a couple of feet in front of me!
There is atleast 4-6 inches outside currently!
I am so excited about all this snow!
But, I am not too excited about the fact that I'll have to walk through all the snow just to get to my last final on Monday...
And! to add on to that...I am going back home, to Jersey, on Monday...
I can only imagine that the road conditions will still be bad...
But hey, it's still snow, that's all that matters currently!
I love snow!

It's going to SNOW...I hope...!!!!!!
I have just learned that it may actually snow tomorrow!
It has only snowed about one time thus far in my college career!
Ever since I entered college, I have been wondering if it will actually snow or not...
But to my luck it might actually snow!!!
Funny thing is that when I found out, my last roommate just left for winter break...
I looked out of my window...It seemed very very nice...It was sunny and barely had any wind...
I was astounded when I first read the weather forecast for tomorrow...it said:
"Issued by The National Weather Service
New York City, NY
9:36 pm EST, Fri., Dec. 18, 2009
... BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON SATURDAY TO 11 AM EST SUNDAY...
A BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON SATURDAY TO 11 AM EST SUNDAY.
DEEPENING LOW PRESSURE OVER THE ATLANTIC SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT WILL RESULT IN THE A PERIOD OF HEAVY SNOW AND HIGH WINDS ACROSS LONG ISLAND. SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 10 TO 14 INCHES... LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS. WIND GUSTS OF UP TO 40 TO 50 MPH ARE POSSIBLE... ESPECIALLY LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND SATURDAY NIGHT. THESE STRONG WINDS ALONG WITH THE HEAVY SNOW WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO UNDER A QUARTER MILE AT TIMES.
ANY MINOR DEVIATION IN THE TRACK OF THIS STORM SYSTEM WILL HAVE A LARGE IMPACT ON SNOW AMOUNTS AND WIND FORECASTS. AT THIS TIME... THE BEST ESTIMATION IS FOR THE STORM TO TAKE A FAVORABLE TRACK TO PRODUCE HEAVY SNOW AND STRONG WINDS FOR LONG ISLAND. STAY TUNED.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A BLIZZARD WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW WITH STRONG WINDS AND POOR VISIBILITIES ARE LIKELY. THIS WILL LEAD TO WHITEOUT CONDITIONS... MAKING TRAVEL EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. DO NOT TRAVEL. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL... HAVE A WINTER SURVIVAL KIT WITH YOU. IF YOU GET STRANDED... STAY WITH YOUR VEHICLE."
My first reaction to this was...wow...really?!!!
YES!!!
But then...if it really snowed that much, it would be hard for me to walk to my last final and go home on next Monday....
I am guessing that it won't be too bad...
But, I am so happy that it is actually going to snow alot!!!!

Time Flies!

Geez! It feels like yesterday was still September...
I can't believe that the first semester of College is almost over already...
It feels like yesterday was the first day of school...
I have finished two of my three final exams already, and am awaiting the day of my last final...
Most of my friends have already left for winter break already...
The hallways are usually loud and full of energy...now...the hallways are quite and feels..."dead"...
I only know a hand full of people that will still be with me till Monday, the last day of finals...
All I can do now is get ready for my physics final...
All the people whom I usually hangout with are all leaving one by one...
I am already starting miss the people that left already...
Funny thing is that I don't really want to got back home for winter break, but yet I do...did that even make any sense? XD

Lucky Pool...or was it Skills?

A couple of hours ago, I was playing pool with my fellow dormitory mates!
I have to say, ever since I got into Stony Brook University I've been getting interested in many things that I never thought I'd be interested in!
For example, pool, eating very very very early in the morning (around 3-5 am), sleeping for very long periods of time, first person games, guitar...etc.
I've been particularly most interested in pool. I've been playing almost at least three times per week!
When I first got interested I was (of course) a beginner. But now, due to my constant playing and instruction from one of the best pool player in my dormitory (plus he is most likely my best friend here in college, I am still rating everyone I know) I am know almost playing one par with the advanced level players in my dormitory!
Okay! A couple of amazing things happened to me while playing pool today...
I was able to clear off my set of balls within a couple of minutes after the game started...I had no idea how I did it! It just happened! I became very accurate in my shots and BOOM BOOM BOOM! Only the black ball/8 Ball was left for me!
In the beginning when I first started playing pool, I wasn't able to do any bank shots, cutting shots, or use spin. But now, I am able to do all of that!
Today is probably the best pool performance I ever had thus far!
I just kept going BOOM BOOM BOOM for all the games that I played today!
I'm going to keep practicing pool whenever I can!
Pool is fun!
But...funny part is...I am known for my ping-pong skills in my dormitory...but now...I've gotten into pool...I wonder how my ping-pong skills are currently...

The Massacre of Finals

The memory of today, Dec. 14th of the year 2009, shall live in infamy...
Today was the first day of finals week...I have already gone through 2/3 of my finals already! I am happy that I have gotten rid of 2/3s of my finals, but, to my dismay...I believe that I have done poorly for both finals...
But I have not named this blog title "Massacre of Finals" for no reason! The moment I finished my finals, I rushed back to my dorm, eager to ask how everybody did, even though I felt that I did terrible...
It so happens that I wasn't the only one that felt disappointed about the finals!
I learned that my whole dormitory building mates all did terrible on the same finals that I had to take!
Once I have learned this fact, my feelings of sorrow and disappointment slowly changed to happy emotions! I have just learned that there will be a very very big curve in the grade! Of course I have to be happy!
I have studied hours upon hours for these finals...I believe that I deserve a good outcome! =D
So far, I have not heard one person say that they did good on a final...
Thus, as I have said before, this day, Dec. 14th, 2009 shall live in infamy...as "The Massacre of Finals"!
I am happy that I have finished 2/3s of my finals! My next final will be on next Monday! Which means that I will have plenty of breathing and studying time! I am going to use my time wisely and make sure that I won't get massacred again!
I may have fallen today, but, I shall stand up and fight once again!

What Happened Today?
It is the time for some of my last minute studying for my finals...
It is currently 12:24 AM...I will be having two of my three finals today!
I am getting a bit worried and stressed about these two finals...but hey, I've been doing a lot of studying! I hope that I can do well later today!
Right now, currently, I am taking a break from all the continuous studying that I have been doing today...I have to say...it is very tiring...
I will be having my Math exam and Electrical Engineer exam today...One after another...
God bless me! I need all the luck I can get!
So, I find it funny that most of my friends today all asked me a self-explanatory question: What did you do today?
I found myself once again laughing on the inside!
It is kind of obvious, studying and getting ready for my finals!
I am surprised that I still saw a bunch of people just having fun and not studying...
I just wish that I was that smart and be able to do that...
Don't you guys just wish life could be that way?
To my followers and readers:
Due to the fact that this is my Finals Week, I have not been able to put that much time into writing/updating my blog...After I get passed this finals week, I will be putting more time into this blog! For now, I am writing whatever jumps into my head! Sorry for any boring blogs that I have wrote!
Be sure to look out for my upcoming videos that I'm going to upload!
Once again, please comment!
Hope to entertain/satisfy you all after this finals week!
Wish me luck!

What do I do in College?
Okay! I am a current college freshman in Stony Brook University! As you guys all know, us, college students, usually go home every once in a while...
So, I went back to my good 'ole home and confront my nagging parents (no offense to them)! The first thing that happens when I first meet my parents or any Aunties and Uncles that I meet is that I get bombarded with questions!
It so happens that all the questions have the same meaning, "What do I do in College?"
So, I did my best to answer that question...
This is for all you parents out there that have college students! Most college students will be doing the same, not all, this is just what I do =D!
What I do in college...
I usually sleep really late because of work and fun then wake up accordingly to my class schedule. Most of the time during the midterm and final weeks, it becomes more and more stressful...
Parents, this is a tip, don't worry so much about us.
I am a single child and my family is Chinese. I have to deal with a lot of concern from my parents. I know that my parents care about me, but, I believe that they are over reacting. My parents constantly call me everyday about me and college. Even when I get back home, they only talk about my academics, nothing else!
Okay, Story Time!
I tried to tell my parents many times to "please stop talking about my academic life"...but to no success...I then say that they are annoying...and my parents say, "We are not annoying!"
Then, my reaction was..."How can you not be annoying?"
At that moment, I was laughing on the inside! How can you not be annoying from your own perspective?
Parents, when your child tries to tells you to stop something or tells you that you are getting annoying...please just listen...
From my personal experience, especially during midterm weeks and finals weeks, most of the things parents say usually add on the the current stress! It is basically adding gas to a open flame....
Moral of story: don't worry about your child too much! We can take care of ourselves, we are old enough....
Okay, back to what I do.....
When there are no finals or midterms, I am usually stuck with a never ending stack of work to do...I finish one assignment another gets posted up directly after...
For fun, I usually play pool, ping-pong, tennis, use my pc, watch TV, and go shopping with my friends! I have to say, even with all the stress and work in college, college is pretty fun and interesting! I love college so far...I do many things in college...I have to say, I love the food in college =D!
PS
If you would like to know more, or, if you have any topics that you would like me to write about, feel free to comment!
I will soon begin to make videos, just a heads up!

It's cold?!!!!!!

Mother nature has been acting very strangely lately...Does anybody remember back to the good 'ole days? When it was winter, it was actually cold, but not as cold as it is now a days? The weather has been changing drastically throughout these years! I don't think that's a good thing, or is it?
I can still remember the weather of two days ago...It was actually pretty warm, I didn't need to wear my thick winter coat. I was actually able to wear my spring jacket! I have to say, that is just unbelievable! It is in the middle of December, isn't it supposed to be cold?
But then, the next day, it became very very cold...colder than it was today...
With all this weather change, it makes it easier to catch a cold...
To all you readers out there: be sure you dress appropriately! Now a days, the weather is very unpredictable, one day it is warm, the next day it'll be cold...Stay strong and healthy!
Is all this weather changing a warning from mother nature? or is it Global Warming?
Can't say can we?
I walked outside a couple of times today...particularly to go get food from the food courts...I have to say...my face started to hurt from the cold!
Not a good thing! This never happened to be before during my previous winter experiences...I am a winter person, I love the cold...but this type of cold!
Stay healthy!
What to do.....?
Okay! I woke up today around 12:30ish...and found out that a local High School was touring my dorm.! I have to say, those high school students are very LOUD! I wonder why those high school students are touring today...
So, I went to eat lunch with a good friend of mine, I won't mention his name without his permission. I have to say, the lunch was very satisfying! I am betting that my friend is more satisfied than I am :D! My friend at so much food that he couldn't walk fast anymore!
It so happens that my friend is going to the Math learning center to get some extra help for the Math final and plans to go to the library to study directly after....
Geez! He thinks that he won't be back till 10 PM! I think that he is crazy, but hey, he is a better student than I am. I can only wish to study for so long without losing my concentration!
Speaking of this...I need to get some studying done!
PLEASE COMMENT! PLEASE GIVE ME IDEAS ON TOPICS TO WRITE ABOUT! MUCH APPRECIATED! =D

I'm Ready!
Alrighty!!!! After looking a several blogs, I have finally gained a view on blogging! =D
I have been inspired to start blogging! It is currently 2:25 AM...don't really have much to say...
I should be studying for my finals that are coming up, but hey, I'm in college! As people say, "college is about procrastinating!"
So far, I have only studied for my upcoming math final....I feel that my brain is partially fried! XD
In order to relax a bit, I have decided to turn on the TV and watch movies!
GEEZZZ! why do these TV channels repeat what they just showed over and over again?!!!
Two hours ago. on AMC, I was watching Terminator II...I left the TV on and found out that it was showing Batman Begins, and now, all of a sudden...it is playing Terminator II AGAIN!!! wow...what can I say?
